- I've accepted a call to serve a church (yeah!) and have been very busy traveling around and attending meetings. I've also been trying to figure out what shape my blogging will take as I head into this call.
- I've moved home to live with my parents during this time of transitioning from student to pastor. My parents don't have wireless internet and I've had to share the family computer with internet with three other people.
- In the next month I will be ordained, move to another state, settle into a house, and start my work as a pastor. The amount of planning and number of details this entails is quite overwhelming.
What do I want people to call me? And will my preference even matter (as in people will call me whatever they are most comfortable with anyways)?
(and if you are so led to comment, please do not use any part of my real name)

Most people call me Pastor KnittinPreacher. It just organically happened. I tend not to use the Rev. KnittinPreacher title unless I am trying to do something pastoral, like get into the hospital to visit. The local funeral directors introduce me as Rev. KnittinPreacher during services, and the bulletin says Rev. First Name Last name on the back.
Hope this helps!
It looks like you are shifting the blog to be more anonymous -- I did it with mine before I moved, so let me know if you want any suggestions.
COngratulations on your call. Hope to read more posts as you begin this next step of your journey. Blessings
what has this congregation called the pastor in the past? Pastor/Rev. First Name? Pastor?Rev. Last Name??that might be a clue.
I follow the same pattern...in my previous call I was referred to as Miss 1-4 Grace by children and youth. This was how my predeccessor was addressed and how i got introduced.
I totally hate being called,
" Miss 1-4 Grace" and tried to tactfully get it changed...did not happen.
So, here I decided to simply be called 1-4 Grace or (by children and those who wish to be formal) Pastor 1-4 Grace.
Think about it ahead of time and figure what you like best or what works for you. Once a name gets started, it is hard to change.
I only use Rev. 1-4 Grace when it is needed for somethign formal
congrats and make sure we know how to keep up with you if you go anonymous
Congrats D w/G!
You're close to starting now and I've been behind on blogreading, but thought I'd share that I'm called Pastor Teri or just Teri depending on who it is and where/when. That's been the tradition here for a while, it seems. It drives Amy up the wall when she visits, but it works for me.
